George J Fisher Leaders In Volleyball The first president and founder of the United States Volleyball Association was Dr George J. Fisher, M.D., from 1928-1952. Dr Fisher is well known for his involvement and leadership with the YMCA, the Boy Scouts of America, and the United States Volleyball Association. Dr George J. Fisher, M.D., was born in 1871 and died in 1960. Dr Fisher is remembered for his emphasis on physical fitness and leadership qualities in youth development. He was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 1991 thirty-one years after his passing. Today USA Volleyball continues to honor Dr George J.
